Below you find information about our Stock Footage material, which codecs are used for the download variants and download links to the codecs for various operating systems to use in post-production.
General Stock Footage Information
For the acquisition of our stock footage the following cameras and external recorders if applicable are used:
- Canon C100 / Atomos Ninja Blade (DNxHD 220x 4:2:2 10-bit)
- Canon XC10 (XF-AVC 4K/HD 4:2:2 8-bit 305mbit)
What codecs and resolutions are used for downloadable stock footage?
For our direct stock footage video downloads we use the following resolutions and codecs:
- AVCHD 4:2:2 8-bit 1920×1080 25p @ 50mbit (MOV)
- Cineform 4:2:2 10-bit 1920×1080 25p/50p @ 100mbit (MOV)
- Cineform 4:2:2 10-bit 3840×2160 25p @ 200mbit (MOV)
- MP4 h264 4:2:0 8-bit 1280×720 25p/50p @ 10mbit (MP4)
Which codec is used depends either on our source and on your selection. Price varies with your selection. Codecs may change over time for technological improvements.
How to process the stock footage material
Minimum requirements for proper processing the stock footage material are Windows Vista/7 or Apple OSX with at least 2 CPUs/Cores at 1GHz, a dedicated GPU with at least 800MHz and 512MB Video Ram.
For the AVCHD material Quicktime is required.
For the Cineform material in addition to Quicktime, also the Cineform Codec is required.
For movies in MP4 codec either Quicktime for OSX is needed. For Windows normaly no extra codec is needed. Depending how you want to process or use the movie files for example in you editing software.
The movies might work well on other system constelations. Please test your system with our free test-clips!
